interface design is an iterative process Your design needs to do certain things; some of which have been done before and are just a matter of reviewing heuristics and leveraging the necessary pieces. And then there are the new concepts and ideas that need to be flushed out via prototype. Typically, these new ideas are where your company stands to grow the most. Inventing is not easy. There’s a school of thought that it’s all been done before, and then there’s the reality that you need it done in a certain way for your objectives, be they new or tried and true. On the right, I have taken time to explain the process that many user interface and web designs go through. The red sections of the graphic indicate where my strengths and skills lie in the product design process. |
